With Nov. 3 midterm election approaching, voters in Iredell County are preparing to make decisions about the people and measures that will appear on their ballots.

From federal to state races to local offices and constitutional amendments, the election offers residents an opportunity to participate in decisions that shape government and public policy.

Lake Norman Record has completed this voter guide to help residents of Statesville, Mooresville, Troutman and surrounding communities find official election information, understand the offices on the ballots and learn more about the candidates seeking public office.

The guide includes key voting dates, early-voting information, links to sample ballots and candidate profiles. Because individual ballots vary by voting district, residents should verify their registration and review their own sample ballot through the North Carolina State Board of Elections before voting.

This guide will be updated as additional information is confirmed. Readers should consult official election authorities for the latest in instructions, locations and deadlines.
