Lake Norman Record is a free local digital based news outlet in Iredell County and Lake Norman region. LKNR covers various topics from arts, culture and news. We strive to promote civil conversation, raise questions and concerns, and promote arts, culture and community through LKNR. Starting in the summer of 2026, LKNR is here to create community and connections all throughout the county.
Our Mission
LNKR believes in true journalism—writing the truth for the people, by the people. We stand firmly on writing factual information and opinions in the manner under our First Amendment right. We believe that media and news should not be placed behind a paywall to access, making LKNR free to access online.
Meet Our Editor
Samantha Hill
Editor & Founder
Samantha Hill, creator of Lake Norman Record, started the media outlet in hopes to bring a creative community together to share their voice, promote events in Iredell County, and other relevant news to the area. Hill was born and raised in Statesville, North Carolina and attended American Renaissance and Collaborative College of Technology and Leadership (CCTL) and Mitchell community college. After earning her associated degree, she temporarily moved to Wilmington, NC and earned her bachelors and masters degree in English from the University of North Carolina Wilmington, focusing on journalism. She has experience in working with student journalists, local news stations and public media outlets, such as encore Magazine and WHQR. She is excited to start LKNR up to promote civil conversations around Iredell County and encourages younger voices to speak up and ask questions about their concerns.
